About the Coach
Coach Karen Chesser is a volleyball coach, player, and advocate. She was born and raised in Southington, Connecticut. Her love for volleyball began in Junior High. She continued her zest for volleyball through high school, collegiate, and semi-professional levels. She later coached at the high school and semiprofessional level. During her 25 year career as a player and coach, her efforts have netted her National Champion accolades as a player and most recently she coached Essex High School to the 2013 State Championship for boys and State Runner’s Up for girls in Vermont’s pilot year for High School Volleyball. Other accomplishments include several AA/Open titles in the New England Sand Volleyball Circuit, coached several Juniors’ teams to championship levels, and completing her Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling and Psychology.
